Eleftherios Anastasovitis

Dr. Eleftherios Anastasovitis holds a PhD in XR, Virtual Worlds, Storyliving, and Virtual Cultural Heritage from the Department of Applied Informatics at the University of Macedonia (2024). His PhD Thesis is entitled: "Computing and Ancient Greek Technology: Immersive Technologies and Storyliving Virtual Worlds for Understanding and Dissemination of the Antikythera Mechanism". He obtained his B.Sc in Informatics at the Aristotle University of  Thessaloniki (2005). In 2014 he received his M.Sc in Cultural Informatics and Communication, from the University of the Aegean. In 2017, Dr. Eleftherios Anastasovitis obtained an M.Ed in Adult Education at the Hellenic Open University. Since 2012, Dr. Eleftherios Anastasovitis has been the Founder, CEO, and XR Software Engineer in Pyrseia Informatics. Dr. Eleftherios Anastasovitis is currently a PostDoc Researcher at the Information Technologies Institute of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH-ITI), where he has collaborated since 2016, on EU/National funded projects related to his interests, such as Extended Reality, Virtual Reality, Virtual Worlds, Serious Games, and 3D Graphics for Cultural Heritage and Training, as well as Technical Project Manager. Dr. Eleftherios Anastasovitis is currently an Adjunct Professor in Virtual Reality at the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering, at the University of the Aegean. Dr. Eleftherios Anastasovitis is currently a visiting Adjunct Professor in Human-Computer Interaction, Design and User Experience in M.Sc in Strategic Product Design, at the International Hellenic University. Dr. Eleftherios Anastasovitis is (a) a member of the Europeana Network Association, and (b) an individual member of the Advisory Board at the EuroXR Association. Dr. Eleftherios Anastasovitis is the Lead Guest Editor of the MDPI Electronics' Special Issue: "Shaping Human-Centered Virtual Worlds"
