Fotis Filippopoulos

Dr Fotis Filippopoulos is an award-winning corporate innovation specialist recognised for his impact as a consultant, researcher, professor, and speaker across 16 countries and 5 continents. His work bridges the realms of academia and industry, positioning him at the forefront of international corporate innovation. As a Visiting Professor of Industrial Skills at the doctoral school of Politecnico di Milano and an innovation professor at the International Hellenic University, Dr Filippopoulos inspires the next generation of innovators. His groundbreaking research on Augmented Collaborative Economy, now listed in the HEC Montréal Coop Gateway, earned him a Highly Commended Award for the best provision of industry information and intelligence at the 2017 European Association Awards in Brussels. Also, from 2006 to 2011, as a pioneer in neuromarketing research, he was among the first globally to systematically apply fMRI technology to better understand consumer behaviour and develop high-impact strategies for corporate clients. An alumnus of the European Commission's official internship program, Dr Filippopoulos now contributes his expertise to the European Commission as an innovation expert and an industrial policy advisor for the European Cultural and Creative Industries (2019 to 2021). He is a member of MIT's J-WEL network. He contributes to various global MIT programs as a mentor and project evaluator, including MIT Solve, the Solveathon workshop, and the MIT Engineering Health Equity Hackathon, which reflect his commitment to helping innovators worldwide solve complex, pressing challenges.
