Christos Berberidis
I am a Laboratory Teaching Staff at the Department of Science and Technology of the University Center for International Programmes of Study of IHU. I have received a BSc and a PhD from the Department of Computer Science of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MSc in Information Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester (UK).
My research focuses in machine learning techniques from textual data. My published work includes 22 articles in peer-reviewed journals and conferences and has received more than 1000 citations. My teaching currently focuses on programming, natural language processing, databases and data mining, while in the past I have taught subjects such as big data and cloud computing, machine learning, decision support systems etc.
I have participated as a member of the research team or as the scientifically responsible (PI) in more than 20 funded, international and national R&D projects. In the past I have worked as a post-doc associate at ITI/CERTH institute, as a visiting research scholar at Purdue University (USA) and as an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Computer Science of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
